Troopers Seize Almost 200 Pounds Of Pot

A 34-year-old man is in the Angelina County Jail charged with marijuana possession.  State troopers found almost 200 pounds of pot in his truck.

Jorge Luis Lucio of Harlingen was near Diboll when authorities pulled over his 18-wheeler.  Troopers said Lucio was acting nervous and was overly talkative during the stop.  They searched his big rig on highway 59 and found 164 pounds of marijuana in a refrigerated trailer.

Trooper Greg Sanches said, "As everybody knows, that road is well traveled. We do have troopers working these roadways, not only for traffic, also for criminal activity."

Troopers stopped Lucio because he was driving on the shoulder of the highway.  The marijuana has a street value of about $50,000.
