Easter Sunday is right around the corner. Easter baskets and chocolate bunnies are flying off store shelves in East Texas. So are baby chicks.
Easter chicks tend to be a very popular gift. They're cute and cuddly critters, but before you buy one as a gift, remember, they don't stay that way.
When chicks grow up, they're a big responsibilty just like any other pet.
Michael Beaty, manager of Wood's Supply and Feed, said, "Make sure they [have] a clean place to stay. Once they get a couple months old, then you can put them out in cages. Little ones have to stay indoors right now because it gets kind of cold on them."
