LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Thousands of East Texas youth finally got to show off their months of hard work at the 67th Angelina County Fair.

It's where livestock, cooking skills and arts & crafts meet.

Things kicked off Tuesday morning with the forestry competition.Throughout the week kids will showcase some of their best live stock.

All of their hard work will pay off literally, because on Saturday 12 scholarships will be given out.

“Some of the best kids in Angelina County are going to participate in the Angelina County fair,” Cary Sims, the County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources said.  “We have over 1,100 entrees from Angelina county youth, in everything from livestock to home economics.”
