POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested a 19-year-old Iowa man Wednesday in connection to allegations that he sexually assaulted two boys, ages 7 and 14.
Nicholas Lee Waters is still being held in the Polk County Jail on two felony charges - aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child. Collectively, his bail has been set at $200,000.
According to a press release, PCSO detectives started investigating reports that boys had been sexually molested by Waters at a home in the Corrigan area on Jan. 31. During their investigation, the detectives learned that a Waters had allegedly molested a 7-year-old boy.
Interviews conducted by the Polk County Child Advocacy Center, the Childrenz Haven, revealed that Waters also allegedly molested a 14-year-old boy.
At that time, the detectives gathered enough evidence to get an aggravated sexual assault of a child warrant for Waters, who was living in Shenandoah, Iowa. With the help of the Shenandoah Police Department, PCSO detectives arrested Waters in Iowa.
During an interview, Waters confessed to molesting both boys, the press release stated.
Then Waters was also charged with sexual assault of a child for his alleged molestation of the 14-year-old boy, the press release stated.
After Waters agreed to extradition, he was brought back to Texas and booked into the Polk County Jail.
Polk County Sheriff Kenneth Hammack said, at this time, his detectives don't think Waters had contact with or access to any other children, but if anyone suspects your child or any child could be a victim, he or she is urged to call Lt. Craig Finegan at (936) 329-9028.
