ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a 52-year-old man Friday in connection to allegations that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy numerous times.
Jerry Dee Vineyard Jr, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child charge. His bail amount has been set at $250,000.
According Capt. Alton Lenderman with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, after the 13-year-old victim made an outcry, his family members brought him into the sheriff's office Thursday. Lenderman said the boy alleged that Vineyard sexually assaulted him numerous time.
ACSO investigators interviewed the alleged victim, and a physical exam was performed on him. Lenderman said between the interview and the exam, they had enough evidence to get an arrest warrant.
ACSO investigators went to Vineyard's home and arrested him there. In addition, they searched Vineyard's home and gathered evidence. Lenderman said it will take some time to search through Vineyard's computers and DVDs.
"Anytime we have a case like this, we know there is a possibility of more victims," Lenderman said.
