NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches Film Festival is underway. Friday evening dozens of film lovers met at Party N Things for an exclusive meet-and -greet with Charlaine Harris.

Harris is the author of the book series and hit TV-show True Blood.

V-I-P attendees mingled with film panelist and actors.

Harris was the special guest at Friday’s event and said she’s honored by East Texans' hospitality.

“It’s always so flattering to me that they take the book so seriously,” Harris said. “It’s a pleasure and a responsibility.”

Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. the Nacogdoches Film festival will be hosting various workshops until 2 p.m. All workshops are free.

Following the workshops is a short film competition at the SFA Student Center Cinema.
