LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin Mom gave birth to her Leap Year baby. It will be four years until Gavin Keith celebrates this special day again.

The bundle of joy was born this morning at CHI St. Luke's Memorial Hospital weighing in at eight pounds.

He was due March 5th, but Mom said after thinking about it, she figured having a Leap Year baby would be kind of cool and was induced to make it happen.

His Mom, Katy, said Gavin will celebrate his birthdays on either the 28th or the 1st on non-leap years.

"It's kind of weird! We were against it at first, but we got used to the idea. We think it's pretty cool," Katy said.
