March primary election results: Gohmert handles Winston

US Rep. Louie Gohmert was successful in his first primary challenge since being elected in 2004, taking an easy win over Lufkin rancher Simon Winston and stay-at-home father Anthony Culler.

With 231 of 231 precincts reporting, Gohmert had gained over 95,000 votes to 16,000 for Winston.

Joe Martin will take over the Angelina County District Attorney's Office in 2017 after soundly defeating Katrina Carswell.

In Nacogdoches County, Nicole LoStracco was able to hold off Rey Morin for another term.
