LUFKIN, TX (Press Release)- Corinthian Ramsey torched the nets for 41 points and the Angelina College Roadrunners withstood a three-point barrage from Paris College in AC’s 120-93 win over the Dragons in Tuesday’s Region XIV Conference Championship Tournament opening round at Shands Gymnasium.
The two teams combined to hit 28 three pointers, with the Dragons accounting for 15 of those. Ramsey hit 21 of his 41 points from three-point range, and Trent Brinkley chipped in 24 points in AC’s win. Gary Blackston added 20 points and Shane Temara 17, lifting the ‘Runners into Thursday’s men’s quarterfinals.
Antonio Chapman came off the bench to lead the Dragons with 27 points; teammate Tyshon Rogers added 26.
The Roadrunners (19-11) will face fourth-seeded San Jacinto College Thursday at 3 p.m.
