NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a 40-year-old man Tuesday in connection to allegations that he sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl in September 2015.
Alfredo Torres Reyes, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated assault of a child charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.
According to the arrest affidavit, a NCSO investigator sat in on a forensic interview conducted at with the alleged victim at Nacogdoches Harold House on Tuesday. A SANE exam was performed as well, according to a press release.
She told the investigator that she was at a home on County Road 810 when the incident occurred in September of 2015.
The 9-year-old said Reyes carried her into a bedroom, where he removed her shorts and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit stated. After the sexual assault was finished, Reyes allegedly told her not to tell anyone what had happened and gave her money.
"Sheriff investigators have learned that Reyes is in the country illegally, and Homeland Security was notified," a press release stated.
Sheriff Jason Bridges said that the investigation is ongoing and investigators have learned of another alleged sexual assault that occurred in another county. More charges could be pending against Reyes.
