INPATIENT

Professional medical staff and doctors provide excellent inpatient care at Memorial Medical Center San Augustine. The hospital houses 18 beds and has 3 full-time physicians. Patients are monitored 24 hours a day.

For friends and family members, visiting hours are not set for patients and the cafeteria is available for lunch.

EMERGENCY

The emergency department at Memorial Medical Center San Augustine is equipped 24-hours a day for patients needing first-class care. With state-of-the-art equipment available, the emergency department is ever ready to meet the needs and concerns of patients.

IMAGING

The Imaging Department has superior technology used for diagnostic purposes. The department offers the following services:

• CT Scan
• Ultrasonography
• Radiographic & Flouroscopy

The Imaging department, under the direction of Sandy Hopson, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff is on-call for weekends and evenings.

LABORATORY

The Laboratory provides vital services to the hospital, area nursing homes and the Assisted Living Center. Services include:

• ABG's (Arterial Blood Gases)
• Cardiac Profiles
• Chemistries
• CBC (complete blood count)
• Coagulation
• Urinalysis
• Drug Screening for local businesses

Cardiopulmonary lab offers Echocardiograms and stree testing on Wednesdays 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The tests are scheduled through centralized scheduling at (936) 275-3446 Ext. 251. The laboratory is under the direction of Wendy Tylich and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CARDIACREHAB

The purpose of Cardiac Rehabilitation is to provide exercise and education during medical supervision to individuals with coronary atherosclerotic disease, whether they are post myocardial infraction, post coronary artery by pass, or angina. the objectives include improving the patient's cardiovascular fitness without exceeding safe limits of exercise, to educate concerning cardiovascular disease, to aid in risk factor reduction, to assist in return to work, and to promote psychological adjustment.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program generally begins immediately post discharge from the hospital lasting for approximately 12 weeks or 36 sessions and at 3 sessions per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). The length of each session is approximately one hour. Patients must be referred into the program by a physician and meet documented entry requirements. Nurses with the aid of telemetry monitors watch patients closely during exercises. Blood pressures are monitored on each patient pre and post exercise and based on the individual's need. Exercise routine consists of warm-up, aerobic activities and cool-down. Education sessions are once per week with arm and leg strengthening with weights the other two days.

CARDIOPULMONARY

Memorial Medical Center San Augustine offers Echocardiograms and stress testing on Wednesdays 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The tests are scheduled through Centralized Scheduling by calling (936) 275-3446, Ext. 251.
