The Angelina Benefit Rodeo is just a few weeks away. The Lufkin Host Lions Club Tuesday held a luncheon to officially kick off the event.
The rodeo is a big fundraiser for several East Texas organizations. Organizers say the event gets bigger and better each year, and there's always something new and different for the whole family to enjoy.
Rodeo coordinator Mike Mathis, said, "You're going to see something fresh and great from the opening this year, all the way through with the talent of the cowboys [and] the talent of the livestock."
The Lions Club collected more than $100,000 last year. This year's Angelina Benefit Rodeo starts April 27th at the Expo Center in Lufkin.
