Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Purse-snatching thieves

From Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers

LUFKIN, TEXAS (News Release) - Someone stole a purse out of a woman's car while she was trying to park at her house, and your help is needed to identify the thieves.

The crime occurred in mid-December as an older couple arrived at their Lufkin home. The husband unlocked the gate and house while the wife parked their car, but before she entered the driveway, a man opened her passenger side door and took her purse. The suspect is a younger, black male, and he fled as the passenger in a maroon Chevrolet Impala.

Later that date, two black men walked out of Walmart in Lufkin without paying for two computers, and they drove away in the same Impala used in the purse snatching.

The investigating officers located the vehicle and its owner but they did not link the owner to the crimes and do not know the identities of the male suspects.

Video from both crimes is posted at The resolution of both videos is low but someone knows the criminals and may have specific knowledge of the two crimes.  If that someone is you, contact Crime Stoppers for a chance to turn that knowledge into cash.

If you can identify either of the suspects, call Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip online at Crime Stoppers calls and tips are anonymous, and Crime Stoppers may pay a reward for the first, most accurate anonymous tip that leads to an arrest.
