CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - Houston County Judge Erin Ford will discuss the possibility of putting "In God We Trust" on county vehicles and in office buildings, following the lead of Angelina County, Lufkin, and other government offices in East Texas.
Ford is not sure if a vote will happen at the Tuesday meeting, but he does have it scheduled for a vote if the commissioners are in agreement to vote on the matter.
"I wanted to bring it up to the commissioners to make sure we had a chance to discuss it and make sure we are all in line," Ford said.
In 2012, The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation has asked the Houston County Courthouse to remove a manger off their courthouse lawn. Ford said he is not concerned about another attack.
"We follow what's right and if we have issues because of a result of it then we will work through those issues," Ford said.
The meeting starts at 10 a.m.
