NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches County officials will put their new retaining wall to the test this week.

The bulkhead on County Road 220 replaces one washed out during the spring floods of 2015. The new, stronger bulkhead is almost complete.

Road crews are now in the process of diverting the creek, but are concerned flood waters could wash away the fresh dirt placed there to rechannel the flow.
Truckloads of dirt were placed along the banks in hopes it will be enough to protect the new construction.
