LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a 19-year-old Lufkin man at his home after he allegedly got angry and hit his father with a GM pickup in the parking lot of the Whataburger on North Timberland Drive early Tuesday morning.
Glenn Earl Smallwood Jr., 19, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. His bail amount has been set at $10,000.
According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, the incident happened at about 3:49 a.m. Tuesday.
Smallwood's father told Lufkin Police officers that his son was angry with him over taking the truck away from him before he hit him with the GM pickup, the report stated. Smallwood's father suffered cuts and scrapes and lower back after he was knocked onto the pickup's hood.
According to the report, the collision with Smallwood's father did an estimated $500 worth of damage to the pickup.
