Tyler Co. Sheriff's Office: Man shot, killed wife then shot himself

TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A murder charge is pending after a Colmesneil man allegedly shot his wife and then shot himself Monday morning.

According to a press release, the Tyler County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at about 8:34 a.m. from a man stating that he had shot his wife and himself.

When the deputies arrived at the home on County Road 3240, they spotted a baby in the open front door area of the home. The baby appeared to be unharmed, the press release stated.

At that point, the TCSO deputies search the home and found Tonia Linscomb, 39, and Andrew Linscomb, 41. Both people had apparent gunshot wounds.

Andrew Linscomb was airlifted to a hospital in Beaumont, and Tonia Linscomb was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Trisher Ford. An autopsy will be performed on Tonia Linscomb on Tuesday.

"Numerous evidence items, including a 9mm handgun, were collected at the scene by Investigators from the Tyler County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers," the press release stated. "At time of press release, Investigators were preparing paperwork to submit to a Magistrate for the issuance of an arrest warrant for Andrew Linscomb, charging him with murder."

According to the press release, the baby found at the scene was the couple's grandchild. They baby was returned to his or her mother unharmed.
