LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - This weekend, kids across East Texas are invited to meet some of their local heroes. The Junior League of Lufkin is hosting their annual Touch a Truck event on Saturday.
Kids get to explore vehicles like fire trucks, 18-wheelers, ambulances, and more. People who attend also get to have a meet and greet with some of our police and firemen.
"The kids can actually see these vehicles that they see drive all around town," Katie Stewart, the co-chair for Touch a Truck said. "So it's giving them a hands on feeling with vehicles that are in our community."
Touch a truck is on March 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $5 or you can buy four tickets and get one free.
The Junior League has already donated tickets to 12 schools.
