JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Following a traffic stop on U.S Highway 96 Thursday, deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office made a felony drug arrest and seized about 80 pounds of methamphetamine that had been sealed in a hidden compartment under the truck.
According to a press release, a JCSO narcotics investigator, the JCSO patrol supervisor, and the sheriff's office's K-9 officer searched the suspect's pickup after the investigator made a routine traffic stop on the vehicle in front of Boot Barn in Jasper.
The suspect gave the deputies permission to search the pickup, and they found numerous individually wrapped bricks of meth hidden in a sealed compartment on the underside of the truck.
The driver of the truck has been arrested. However, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office has not released the man's name yet because he has not been arraigned.
