ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A 25-year-old Nacogdoches man is in the Angelina County Jail after deputies allege he inappropriately touched two minors at a church event Monday afternoon.

According to Cpt. Alton Lenderman, Collin Howard was identified by church members after they say two girls came up to a leader of an event and said Howard was acting inappropriately around them. Lenderman said church leaders chased Howard off the property and that he was later arrested in Nacogdoches.

Lenderman said Howard is not a staff member at the church and was just there for the event.

Paster Bob Klund with Believes Bible Church in Lufkin, which was not the church in which the incident took place, said with Easter around the corner parents need to extra cautious, and watch the out for suspicious activity.

“Keep your own eyes on your children, it’s the best way so no matter what you see your children and you see who might have access to them,” Klund said.
