Wreck injures one on US 69 north of Lufkin

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A wreck has stalled traffic on US 69 near the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.

The wreck happened around 1:30 P.M.

According to DPS Trooper David Flowers, Dr. Michael Duren was trying to turn his 2006 Lexus into the state school entrance when he was struck by a Dodge truck traveling southbound on US 69. The truck was driven by Charles Chandler from Corrigan. After the collision, both cars spun out into the highway.

Dr. Duren was taken to Woodland Heights in Lufkin for minor injuries. Chandler was not injured.

Central Volunteer Fire Department, DPS, Angelina County Sheriff's Office, and Central Police showed up to the scene to assist.
