NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo & Steer Show will take place beginning Thursday night and run all the way through Saturday.

The first to arrive to build up the anticipation is rodeo clown and barrel man Rudy Burns. Over 40 years of experience allows Burns to do wheelies in his clown mobile. The veteran showman can't wait until the other rodeo entertainers, cowboys and cowgirls arrive.

Rudy Burns, Rodeo Clown and Barrel Man-"Andy Stewart, rodeo announcer, Pete Carr Pro Rodeo puts it on. The stock once again NFR stock,” said Rudy Barns, a rodeo clown and barrel man. “Plenty, plenty contestants. Found out we have 15 plus bull riders each night, 10, 12 bareback riders, bronc riders. Some 60 barrel racers showed up here, so Nacogdoches this weekend Thursday, Friday and Saturday is the place to be."

Thursday night it's free to get into the gates. A two dollar charitable donation is suggested.

Rodeo action starts at 7:45 p.m., but mutton bustin' kicks things off about an hour earlier. All action takes place at the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center on the West Nacogdoches Loop.
