From Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers
ANGELINA COUNTY, TEXAS (News Release) - The 69 Kountry Store in Pollok was burglarized Easter weekend, and Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers is ready with cash rewards to help put the burglars in jail.
This is the second time this year that 69 Kountry Store has been burglarized. Around 3 a.m. on February 18, Angelina County deputies responded to an alarm at the store, located at 10951 Highway 69 North, and found the front glass door broken. Security cameras captured images of the suspects' vehicle, a maroon early 2000s model Toyota Tundra extended cab truck.
Video and images from this weekend's burglary are not yet available, but investigators report that the same truck was used.
During the February and March burglaries, the suspects forced their way into the store, attempted to take the cash register - it was left damaged but appears to not have been opened - and stole cigarettes.
Investigators stated that one suspect from the February crime was wearing a mask and gloves but is likely a white male.
Also reported February 18 was an attempted burglary, committed in the same manner, at a convenience store in Cherokee County. A maroon Toyota Tundra was involved and the door glass was broken but the building was not entered.
