While some are taking the Pope's death as a sad tiding, others keep a somewhat optimistic view.
During mass at St. Patricks Church in Lufkin, priests spoke of happiness when referring to the passing of the Pope. The fathers there say Pope John Paul II is finally at rest.
Father James Kalliath of St. Patrick's Catholic Church said, "he himself has asked us in his last days don't weep for me, don't be sad about me because I am happy and I want you to be happy too. That was his will. And we are happy because he is in a better place."
