LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Texas Forestry Association held a ribbon cutting at its new office building Wednesday.
Tied in with the ribbon cutting was a building dedication to executive director Ron Hufford, and open house showcasing their new office.
This new facility will serve as a training location forest land owners, loggers, or anyone interested in the forestry industry.
"We have a big economic impact on the rest of the state, and so we train our loggers on how to log properly, protect water and air quality," James Houser, the president of TFA education funding said.
"This is going to service the association's needs for many years to come," Hufford said. "We do a lot of training and educational programs, and the older building we had out grown."
Training programs start Thursday at 1 p.m.
