NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A free student-led forestry outreach and education day is planned for Saturday at Stephen F. Austin State University College of Forestry.

We caught a sample of what guests will see.

The 2015 Sylvans, winners at the Southern Forestry Conclave Championship and the Arkansas State Lumberjack Championship will climb poles and trees. It’s a risky task if you don't know how it's done.

Booths on snakes, the forest ecosystem, camping demonstrations, and bears will also be found.

Sarah Fuller, Outreach Coordinator, College of Forestry & Agriculture-"Our Wildlife Society will be discussing black bears and their slow, natural return to Eastern Texas,” said Sarah Fuller, the outreach coordinator for SFA’s College of Forestry & Agriculture. “And there will be, of course, a child activity related with that, but they'll also be able to talk with parents or students whoever comes about the current research that's ongoing."

SFA's Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture will host a free forestry outreach and education day this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It all happens on the lawn of the SFA Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture in Nacogdoches.
