LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin rewarded some of its most loyal volunteers with a free meal on Thursday.
Many of the volunteers shared their most memorable moments while helping out.
"A woman said, 'Honey you look just like you've got Jesus in your heart,' and I said, 'Honey I do, and I'll tell the world I do," Marry Ann Mewbourn, a 20-year volunteer said.
Hospital volunteers were rewarded for their hours, while gift shop volunteers were recognized for their years of service.
All of the recipients were given a free meal at Cotton Patch Café in Lufkin.
Many of the volunteers have served more than two hundred hours this past year.
