Jasper Co. Sheriff's Office: Burglars cut hole in Buna store, stole about $1K

JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Burglars made off with about $1,000 after they cut a hole in the side of the Dollar General store in Buna early Tuesday morning.

Jasper County Sheriff Mitchell Newman said that the burglary at the Dollar General Store located on State Highway 62 in Buna at about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday morning. He said the store was closed at the time of the robbery.

Newman said it appears as though the suspect or suspects cut a hole in the side of the building to gain entry into the store. The hinges of the safe were broken off, Newman said.
