Affidavit: 17-year-old found parked on bridge sexually assaulted 13-year-old girl

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 17-year-old man on an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge after he was allegedly caught parked on the Angelina River Bridge having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.

Tyler Wayne Ward, 17, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child charge. His bail amount has been set at $75,000.

According to the arrest affidavit, NCSO deputies made contact with the driver of a vehicle parked on the Angelina River Bridge on State Highway 7 west of Nacogdoches who was later identified as Ward Tuesday morning. The deputies later learned that Ward had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.

Ward was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
