Strong Storms Hit East Texas Late Tuesday Night

Strong to severe thunderstorms created a few scattered problems across East Texas late Tuesday night.  Here's a look at storm reports from across our area:

Cherokee County

  • 9:05pm -- Trees down near Gallatin

Houston County

  • 10:16pm -- Penny sized hail reported near Grapeland
  • 10:20pm -- Roof blown off house and trees down near Latexo.

Nacogdoches County

  • 11:35pm -- Golfball sized hail in Nacogdoches
  • 11:35pm -- Pea sized hail just south of Nacogdoches
  • 11:35pm -- Pea to dime sized hail just north of Nacogdoches

Panola County

  • 10:20pm -- Golfball sized hail in Gary
  • 10:30pm -- Goflball sized hail in Carthage
  • 10:35pm -- Fed Ex truck blown on its side 2 miles west of the Clayton community, no injuries reported

Rusk County

  • 9:35pm -- Golfball sized haill in Joinersville, west of Henderson
  • 9:35pm -- Quarter sized hail in Turnertown, west of Henderson
  • 9:45pm -- Half dollar sized hail in Henderson
  • 10:00pm -- Tennis ball sized hail near Tatum

Shelby County

  • 10:40pm -- Quarter sized hail covering the ground in Timpson
