LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The annual Downtown Hoedown will be held in Lufkin Saturday.
Several vendors, businesses, and organizations from around the community will all be out on several of the streets in downtown with plenty of activities for the family to do.
There will all kinds of foods, bounce houses, arts and crafts, shopping, games for the kids, and other entertainment.
A band will be performing on the corner of First and Lufkin Ave., a stage for an open mic will be set up, and the Changing Lives Dance Center will host the Color of Art Life Show, featuring singer Bryan Harkness.
However, in order for everything to be set up, the city is asking everyone to move their cars Friday night.
"Friday night is the night we ask everybody that is located in downtown, that has a business or is visiting, to please move their cars from those locations because that is where the festival will be," said Main Street Director Barbara Thompson.
People have until 5 p.m. to move their cars, otherwise they will be towed.
"We don't want to tow cars. That's why we're trying to get the word out," Thompson said. "We need time to set everything up."
The Hoedown will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission. There will be places designated to park and the city will have people directing traffic.
"We just want everyone to come out and enjoy all of the festivities," Thompson said. "It's going to be a great time."
