Central's Karley McHenry signed on with the Lady Roadrunners Friday.
The four-year letterwinner is a three-time all-district selection and has been named to the all-region team for back-to-back years.
McHenry is definitely not shy when letting the ball fly, especially behind the arc.
This past season McHenry sunk 80 3-pointers. She averaged over 20 points a game, 9 rebounds and racked in a whopping 1,448 points.
Signing a good shooter was key for the Ladyroadrunners next year and they got it with McHenry.
“We’re losing two of the best shooters we’ve ever had at the same time so there was a definite void there at that position that we really needed to fill. We feel like we’ve taken care of that,” said Ladyroadrunner head coach Byron Coleman. “She plays hard, plays with an attitude and gets after it. That’s what we really like. It wasn’t just one thing it was a multitude of other things with her.”
“I’m pretty excited. I’ll be nervous when we first start but I’m pretty excited about it,” said McHenry. “I’ll have to change how I play. I used to do it all. At AC I’m just going to be a straight shooter probably and that’s okay with me. Coach has already told me different ways to shoot.”
McHenry said she’s deciding between going to school to be a coach or pediatric nurse.
