HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) - A Huntington ISD teacher who has been accused of sending a nude photo of herself to a 14-year-old former student has resigned, according to the district's superintendent.
Huntington ISD Superintendent David Flowers said Monday that Kylie Rexann Modisette has resigned from the school district. Flowers also said because he has the power to accept resignations, they will not need to go to the Huntington ISD School Board to make Modisette's resignation official.
Modisette, 28, has been charged with Class A misdemeanor distribution of harmful material to a minor.
According to an arrest affidavit, Huntington ISD Police contacted Ranger Travis Brazil on April 4, requesting assistance with the investigation.
Brazil reported learning that Modisette, who teaches on the middle school campus, had sent nude photographs of herself to the student through Snapchat in December. The boy was able to delete the photos from his cellphone, but not before other students had taken a screenshot and distributed to multiple students throughout the school.
The boy told authorities that Modisette had sent him multiple photos and that he was a former student of hers.
Law enforcement then interviewed Modisette, who confessed to sending two photos to the student, according to the affidavit.
Brazil obtained a warrant for Modisette's arrest on April 7. Modisette was booked into the county jail later that day and has posted a $1,500 bail.
At the time Flowers would only confirm that they investigated a teacher and had placed the person on administrative leave pending the investigation.
