CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) - Nearly 5 years after the tragic death of Bradly Currie, his family members are making sure his legacy lives on.
The Corrigan 19-year-old was killed after a head-on collision with a dump truck in Webb County back in October of 2011.
In 2013, his family formed a scholarship fund in Bradly's honor but it was only available to students in Corrigan ISD. Three years later, they're now expanding that scholarship to include students in the Livingston and Lufkin school districts.
"It's our way of dealing with the loss. Brad was a very vibrant, a very outgoing individual. He loved to help people. It's sort of therapy for us," said Gary Currie, Bradly's father.
The Currie family said they plan to hold events throughout the year to raise enough money to award four scholarships.
