CENTER, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Center Police Department arrested a 43-year-old Longview woman on two felony charges on connection to allegations that she was intoxicated when she rammed her car into her ex-husband’s pickup in November 2015.

At the time of the ramming incident, the woman’s 14-year-old daughter was in the car with her.

Regina Rene Shead was booked into the Shelby County Jail on two felony charges - driving while intoxicated and abandoning or endangering a child. She was released from the on Wednesday after she posted a collective bail amount of $9,000.

According to the arrest affidavit, Center PD officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 400 block of Nacogdoches Street on Nov. 15, 2015. The dispatcher told the officers that a witness said Shead’s 14-year-old daughter had been in the car when Shead rammed her ex-husband’s black Ford F-150 with her red Chevrolet Camaro.

When the officers arrived on the scene, they found Shead lying face down in the parking lot next to her Camaro, the affidavit stated. One of the officers tried to speak to Shead, he he wasn’t able to get a response from her.

At that point, Ace MES was called out to the scene to treat Shead.

An eyewitness told one of the officers that as he was getting into his vehicle, he saw Shead and her daughter inside the car.

According to the witness, Shead rammed her husband’s F-150 with her Camaro twice. Shead’s teenage daughter was screaming and crying when she got out of the Camaro, the affidavit stated.

Shead got out of her car and told the witness to call 911, the affidavit stated.

When the CPD officers searched Shead’s Camaro, they found a cup with a small amount liquid they believed to be alcohol in it. A blood sample was obtained from Shead.

The affidavit stated that Shead was not arrested on the day of the incident because she was under the care of the emergency room workers at the time. Shead’s blood sample was mailed to the Texas Department of Public Safety lab in Tyler, and a Center PD detective got the results back on Dec. 11, 2015.

The lab test revealed that Shead’s blood-alcohols level was .093. In Texas, a person who has a blood-alcohol level of .08 is considered intoxicated.
