LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a Lufkin man and woman following a 100 mile-per-hour motorcycle chase around the Lufkin loop Monday night.
Brian Gregory Garrett, 30, is charged with third-degree evading arrest, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm by felon and state-jail felony theft. Julie Melissa Saxon, 32, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She has posted a $500 bail.
According to Sheriff Greg Sanches, a deputy tried to stop the motorcycle on Loop 287 at 6:30 p.m. after recognizing Garrett as a wanted felon. Sanches said Garrett fled the stop, going in speeds up to 100 miles-per-hour and running several red lights. Sanches said Garrett and Saxon then tried to run in the area near Crown Colony.
Deputies were able to arrest both.
Garrett had meth on him and a handgun under the motorcycle seat, Sanches said. Sanches said the motorcycle was reported stolen.
