LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two East women are turning Lufkin blue Friday for autism awareness month.
Chasity Boatman and Jessica Gilligan are hosting a Light it up Blue Carnival to help raise money for autism.
The event will feature snow cones, face painting, storytelling and more fun activities.
"It's not just for children with autism, it's for children all over the community," event organizer, Chasity Boatman said. "It's a really great opportunity for children with or without autism to and see that their differences aren't really that big."
The Light it up blue carnival is Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott in Lufkin.
This event is free, but donations will be accepted for the national organization Autism Speaks.
