McNeal Will Not Play in Spring Game

According to a Texas A&M athletic department press release, Texas A&M head football Dennis Franchione surprised reporters on Tuesday.

Franchione said "Reggie won't play Saturday!"

Franchione and offensive coordinator Les Koenning, after conferring with Reggie McNeal, decided that the risk of injury is not worth the potential upside of having him participate in the Maroon and White Game. Kick off is at 2:PM, Saturday at Kyle Field.

Franchione also said McNeal does have a minor bruise on his right shoulder that does not affect his throwing and is totally unrelated to the injury that required surgery.

Quarterbacks, Stephen McGee and Ty Branyon, the back-ups, have little to no experience.
