SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KTRE) - In the San Francisco Giants 13-9 victory over the Padres Wednesday, Belt drove in five runs and was a home run short for the cycle.
The former Hudson Hornet started off at the plate in the first inning with a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Denard Span to score and getting Joe Panik to third.
That was just the warmup.
In the third inning, Belt hit a double deep to right field. Matt Duffy scored to tie the game 4-4.
Next inning, the first basemen struck again. This time it was a triple to right and Panik and Duffy both scored extending the Giants lead to 8-4.
Belt made noise again in the fifth inning with a single to left. That single allowed Panik to come home and make it a 12-4 ballgame.
