LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A 28-year-old Lufkin woman found herself behind bars after she allegedly took money for sex, stole the man's wallet, and left the motel room wearing nothing but a towel.
Tracy Samuel is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on three state-jail felony charges - theft of property between $1,500 and $20,000, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance less than 1 gram, and a capias warrant for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. Her bail amount has been set at $20,000 for the capias charge.
Samuel was arrested on Wednesday.
According to the arrest affidavit, the incident happened on March 19 at 2015. An LPD officer was dispatched to the Super 6 Motel located at 1110 S. Timberland Drive, where a man told him that a prostitute had stolen his wallet.
The man told police that he rented the room and was with a prostitute named Tracy, the affidavit stated. When the woman started performing oral sex on him, she complained about the smell, and the man got out of bed to take a shower.
When the man left the shower, he saw the woman wearing a towel and standing by the front door, the affidavit stated. The woman allegedly told the man that she would be right back and left the room.
Moments later, the man thought to check for his wallet, which had been in his shirt pocket by the bed, and found that it was gone, the affidavit stated. At that point, he called the Lufkin Police Department.
The man told the responding LPD officer that the wallet contained about $1,500 in cash, an Oklahoma driver's license, a Chase Bank debit card, and an IBC debit card. The officer got the numbers for the two banks, so the man could attempt to freeze his accounts as quickly as possible.
Later, the LPD officer spoke to a man who had arrived at the scene to help the victim. The man explained that he had worked for the victim for 40 years and that the victim had been visiting him at his home when a prostitute named Tracy approached his boss and propositioned him, the affidavit stated. The man told the officer that the victim and the woman drove to the Super 6 Motel together.
After the Lufkin Police Department identified Samuel as a possible suspect, the presented the victim and his employee with two pictures of possible suspects, they picked out Samuel's picture.
An LPD detective took over the case and interviewed the victim on March 25, 2015. The victim was again shown several pictures of possible suspects, and he picked Samuel out of the lineup again.
