Liquor Stores Say Minors May Try To Buy, But They Fail

by Chris Cato

Many teens trying to get alcohol prom night will be disappointed.

Area liquor stores have been told to card just about everyone that looks underage, and managers at some stores we spoke with say just like last year, if you try to buy and you're underage, you will get caught.

Scott Tang, the manager of Hills Liquor said, "every year on prom night we get a lot of young kids come try to buy beers and liquor and we card everybody that's like 16 to 28, 30. Don't try it, we're gonna card everybody."

According to the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission, anyone caught supplying alcohol to teens can be fined up to $4,000 and given up to a year in jail.
