ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Multiple injuries are reported in an eight-vehicle pile-up Friday morning on a busy Angelina County highway.

Three 18-wheelers, two SUVs, one pickup truck, and two cars are involved in the crash, which is slowing traffic on the southbound side of US 59 near the Angelina/Nacogdoches County Line.

Nacogdoches Fire Battalion Chief Frank Hamby said four people were injured, but none appear to be serious. Two were taken to a Nacogdoches hospital while two were taken to a Lufkin hospital.

DPS spokesman David Hendry said an 18-wheeler was broken down and being pulled out of the road. A driver of a Kia SUV and a driver of another 18-wheeler had slowed down and a driver of a log truck struck both of those vehicles.

"It's a miracle," driver Abagail Grider said. "I mean looking at it, it is just crazy. So many cars involved. So many people involved. it's a blessing that no one got seriously injured."

The scene was cleared by 2:30 p.m.

TxDOT spokeswoman Rhonda Oaks said at 9:55 a.m. that a second wreck occurred involving a wrecker removing a truck from the scene.
