ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Rainy conditions contributed to a wreck in which an 18-wheeler crashed through a section of fence at the Winston 8 Ranch located just outside of Lufkin Monday afternoon.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Joe Cole, the wreck happened at about 1:25 p.m. Monday. He said the driver, Nicanor Layva of Houston, was driving a tanker truck that was headed south toward Lufkin at an unsafe speed, lost control, and went through the fence.
Simon Winston, the owner of the ranch, said the fence was the only thing that was damaged. He and some of his employees made sure no cattle got out through the break in the fence.
