Superintendent leaving Zavalla ISD

ZAVALLA, TX (KTRE) - It appears Zavalla ISD Superintendent Michael Woodard is leaving his post.

An agenda item for a special-called board meeting this Friday states the board will have consideration of appointment of interim superintendent and consideration of filling superintendent vacancy.

In a press release put out by the district Wednesday afternoon, the district stated the school board and Woodard reached an agreement that allowed Woodard to pursue other interests and permits the board to look at hiring another superintendent.

Woodard is wrapping up his second year as the head at Zavalla after David Flower left to take over the superintendent position in Huntington.
