Zackery Pierce will continue his baseball career at East Texas Baptist University.
The pitcher has been a two-year letterwinner for the Hornets, topping out at 87 mph.
Pierce said he looked at going to San Jacinto, UT Tyler and possibly Houston Baptist University, but the Christian atmosphere pulled him into going to ETBU.
Pierce has been on the diamond since he was 4 years old and said he wants to keep challenging himself at the next level.
“It’s going to be hard because you don’t know anybody and you’re not playing with anybody that you know. The chemistry part of baseball will be hard but I like challenges,” said Pierce.
The senior said he plans on majoring in math so that he can eventually become an engineer.
