HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Houston County Sheriff's Office arrested a 28-year-old Grapeland man on a felony criminal mischief charge after he allegedly violated a protective order, scratched the word "whore" into the hood of his wife's car, and punctured all four tires early Saturday morning.
Corey Randall Green was arrested and charged with state-jail felony criminal mischief between $2,500 and $30,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, a Houston County Sheriff's Office deputy was dispatched to a home in the 3300 block of FM 228 at about 4 a.m. to investigate a report of a violation of a protective order.
When the HCSO deputy spoke to Green's ex-wife, she explained that she woke up after her outside dogs started barking. The woman looked out her back window and thought she saw a shadow in the backyard.
At that point, the woman opened her back door and saw Green standing on the passenger side of her 2013 Dodge Durango, the affidavit stated. She told Green, who was issued a protective order on May 11, to leave.
According to the affidavit, Green ran to his vehicle and "spun out" of the driveway.
The deputy that responded to the scene noticed deep scratches all over the woman's Durango and the word "whore" had been scratched into its hood. In addition, all four of the SUV's tires had been punctured in the sidewalls, so they could not be repaired, the affidavit stated.
Green also allegedly left tire marks in the woman's driveway when he spun out.
The protective order Green was issued states that Green is required to stay at least 200 feet from the home in the 3300 block of FM 228, and his wife's Durango was about 20 feet from her back door, the affidavit stated.
The woman got estimates to repair the damage. The affidavit stated that it will cost $1,347.41 to replace all four tires. Repairing the paint and body damage to her Durango will cost an estimated $5,267.15.
The deputy asked for and got an arrest warrant for Green on May 21.
