Gas Prices Have Pizza Deliverers Flocking To Union

by Ramonica R. Jones

It's no secret, it costs more to drive these days.  For folks who depend on their vehicles for work, skyrocketing gas prices are especially hard to take.

Since gas prices started going up, the Association of Pizza Delivery Drivers has been flooded with new members who want union representation.

Many pizza restaurants paid a 50 cent vehicle reimbursement before the big gas increase.  Now that gas is more than two dollars a gallon, pizza delivery drivers have to make about five deliveries to pay for a single gallon.

Some companies are now either adding a delivery charge or increasing their current delivery charge to cover the higher cost of gas for their drivers.
