LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Texas DPS is charging a Lufkin woman accused of stealing Hydrocodone pills from a pharmacy with which she was employed.
Chabrittnee Chavon Stanton, 24, is charged with third-degree diversion of controlled substance.
According to the DPS report, a special agent with the DPS Criminal Investigations Division interviewed Stanton at Abeldt's Gaslight Pharmacy in the 200 block of Gaslight Boulevard.
The investigator questioned Stanton about her job duties and about how she was caught on surveillance putting a pill bottle in her smock pocket, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states Stanton eventually admitted to stealing several bottles of Hydrocodone and giving them to her boyfriend so that he could sell them on the streets.
Stanton said she needed the money so that she could pay her car note and other bills.
The investigator obtained a warrant for Stanton's arrest on Wednesday and she was arrested on the same day. She has posted bond.
