Nacogdoches Family Worried About Missing Relative

by Donna McCollum

One of three missing Houston fishermen whose boat capsized off the Freeport coast has East Texas ties. Scott Keller, 41, has a lot of Nacogdoches County relatives. Those relatives are asking for prayers that their loved one will be found.

Keller and his two fishing partners haven't been seen since Friday night when they left for an offshore fishing trip 80 miles into the Gulf. The family is concerned that Coast Guard will soon call off the search.

Cousin Christy Muirhead said, "We're not giving up hope and it seems as if they are. And so the search is going to continue regardless if they're there or not there."

The family is getting help so pilots can search from the air. Large boats are also needed. Cousin Anita Grace said, "Most of the family members don't have boats and the equipment that it takes in order to find them and we need for people that can to stay involved."

A life boat and floating ice chests are missing from the boat. This gives the family encouragement that the men are alive. If you want to help call Grace at 936-560-0198.
