NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Habitat for Humanity house will be built in six days, thanks to the generosity of Nacogdoches building contractors.
Nacogdoches Habitat is participating in its first Home Builders Blitz.
Volunteer contractors are pooling their resources to build a three -bedroom, one bathroom home.
The framing was completed, Monday.
Tomorrow another crew will raise the trusses.
"Homebuilders Blitz is a program Habitat for Humanity International started several years ago," said Miki Lynn, the executive director for Habitat for Humanity - Nacogdoches. "It was an opportunity to expand our involvement with the community by inviting professional homebuilders to come out and help us improve our capacity by building faster, better homes. They also help us with some fundraising."
The home will be purchased by a grandmother who is caring for her four grandchildren.
This is the 18th Habitat for Humanity home to be built in Nacogdoches.
